Under direction of a Senior Transportation Planner, the incumbent will serve in a lead capacity as the transit coordinator, to provide the team with transit data from internal and external sources and provide support in the evaluation of modeling data. Coordinate with contractors and other transit staff within Caltrans for special projects, grants and documents. Assist in scoping of projects, developing work plans, quarterly reports, contract management, invoicing and the review and comment on the deliverables. Provide Geographic Information System (GIS) support and preparation of system planning documents and provide support for other special projects. As a District Transit coordinator, compile information, compose text, and assess material for transit issues. Incumbent will prepare and update corridor studies, and other related District 10 System Planning documents. This includes researching and assembling highway and census data from various government agencies, traffic modeling, forecasting, traffic operations units, and land use planners to analyze transportation system operation. It also involves the use of various software applications to compile the data into a functional document with graphs, charts, tables, and maps. Work with Program Project Management staff to compile and update project lists. Eligibility

Knowledge of the planning process and transportation planning and engineering practices; experience with planning studies. Advanced skills with Windows 11, Microsoft Office Suite, ESRI ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Smartsheet, Cisco Webex, Zoom, web browsers, calculator, and mobile devices. Proficiency in database management and scripting is desirable. Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and software. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; ability to communicate professionally and build cooperative relations. Ability to apply sound judgment in data collection and model/corridor analysis. Ability to read, understand, and follow statutes, directives, policies, and procedures. Commitment to quality and accuracy in SP&GM program work. Benefits
