Responsibilities

Monitors attend meetings/training given by OPWDD.

Active member of Incident Review Committee.

Assist QA /training Coordinator on the quality assurance program and audit procedure for the DDS network.

Assist in creating a uniform standard for forms and procedures across the DDS network.

Implement routine and scheduled training program for all employees within the DDS network in CPR, First Aid, SCIP-R and other training deemed necessary by OPWDD.

Conduct scheduled audits of each ICF, IRA and Family Care home to assure compliance with TSA, NYS and NYC policies.

Unscheduled inspections of each ICF and IRA and Family Care homes to assure compliance.

File all incidents into the WSIR System.

Maintain incident management program to reduce injuries and abuse.

Ensure all Incident Reports filed as required and corrective actions implemented.

Provide independent report to the QA/Training Coordinator, Director of Social Services and/or DDS Director on all inspections and audits.

Assist with providing and scheduling special trainings to increase quality of care at each ICF, IRA and Family Care homes.

Secondary auditor of finances and funds of each resident, ensuring no misspent or misused funds.

Complete unannounced visits and provide written report of findings.

Provide independent investigation of each Incident Report focusing on possible neglect, mistreatment, abuse, harassment, civil rights violations.

Work with Program Managers and Assistant Program Managers to improve programs, increase community inclusion, streamline operations and reduce spending.

Assist with ensuring all locations are in good repair and safe for human life.

Maintain records and reports regarding health and safety of residents and quality of each program.

Keep up to date on each resident's medical, psychological, cognitive and social needs and ensure programming is appropriate to needs and treatment goals.

Be available and willing to respond to other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or more than 5 years of experience in management, leadership, or Human Resources management.

At least 2 years of experience proven with OPWDD.

1 year experience in staff training and audit reviews.

Demonstrates a high level of respect and consideration for the residents being served.

Excellent organizational, time management & interpersonal skills.

People skills with experience working in customer service.

Certified investigator.

A valid driver's license required (must be able to drive large vehicle such as wheelchair or 15-seater van).

SCIP-R and First Aid/CPR Certified.

Must be available via Phone and Lotus Notes access 24 hours 7 days per week.
