Parking and Transportation Coordinator

Position Purpose Serves as the primary contact and administrator for the Transportation Services Office, whose functions include Parking Operations, Driver Safety program, and liaison relations with Premier Coach, Advance Transit, Zipcar, and Enterprise. Provides high quality customer service to Dartmouth’s faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Required Qualifications Associates plus 5+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of administrative and customer service experience in a complex organization.
Demonstrated experience in handling multiple issues in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in serving customers with professionalism and tact.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite; ability to troubleshoot computer problems.
High degree of judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Excellent attention to detail.
Capacity to handle multiple assignments at any given time, often under time constraints.
Sensitivity to confidential matters.
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Responsibilities – Parking & Transportation Operations (70%)
Primary responsibility for day‑to‑day operation of the Transportation Services Office. Coordinates the process to register over 4000 vehicles for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Maintains parking lot privileges based on employee status or other criteria set by Dartmouth’s senior staff.
Coordinates parking logistics for construction, conferences, events, and visitors to the College.
Prepares parking schedules, permits, and permit allocation.
Processes all financial transactions related to parking and transportation programs, including cash/credit card payments, receipts for deposit, payroll deductions for parking fees, and accounts receivable billings for unpaid tickets.
Processes all parking citations and appeals; tracks towed and booted vehicles that are unregistered with the College or parked in a way impeding safety.
Maintains driver safety information, includes applications, motor vehicle records, driver safety files, DOT files, and other federal regulations compliance.
Ensures drivers meet all criteria to use vehicles on behalf of Dartmouth programs; maintains approved driver status with Enterprise rental program.
Coordinates and schedules physicals for random alcohol and drug testing for CDL holders.
Runs and reviews management reports on parking and related collections data; maintains parking statistics and lists of authorized vehicles at Greek houses.
Facilitates cross‑training among Transportation Services team members.
Recommends process and policy changes regarding Transportation Services operations.
Responsibilities – Customer Service and Other Office Duties (25%)
Represents Campus Services by providing high quality customer service and professionalism in daily interactions with customers.
Demonstrates a high degree of diplomacy and tact when interacting with customers.
Assists with Mobility Rides program dispatching as required.
Works closely with Campus Services IT staff on Parking and Transportation systems changes; conducts test scenarios and reports system irregularities.
