Sustainable Wellness is a trauma-focused psychotherapy and wellness practice focused on providing a holistic approach to healing. We offer specialized mental health services for PTSD and other trauma disorders, along with trauma-informed care for communities exposed to high levels of chronic stress and shame. We’re passionate about and committed to helping our clients achieve optimal wellness in a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment. We offer individual, group and couples therapy along with supplemental wellness services such as yoga, workshops, educational training, and retreats. We have two office locations in Rochester, NY, and one office in Kingston, NY. We serve clients virtually throughout New York State.
Position Summary :
The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing ethically sound, evidence-based psychotherapy in our growing group private practice. This is a direct practice position where individual therapy sessions are the primary focus of the work. The opportunity to lead groups, workshops, and educational trainings may also be available as requested and appropriate. Job Type :
Full-time clinicians are expected to conduct a minimum of 23 billable client sessions each week. A billable hour is a 53-60 minute session (i.e. 90837). All clinicians are asked to schedule at least two (2) extra sessions on their calendars weekly to account for cancellations and other unforeseen circumstances. For example, clinicians who see the minimum of 23 weekly clients should schedule 25 weekly clients. Clinicians are also expected to reserve approximately 2-3 hours per week for meetings, including, but not limited to all-staff meetings, supervisions, and collaboration meetings.
Primary Responsibilities :
Conduct therapy with clients from a trauma-focused lens and in accordance with practice policies.
Conduct individual sessions in person and/or via telehealth with clients, as well as their partners, families, or others as clinically appropriate.
Provide an appropriate clinical diagnosis with special attention to histories of trauma and oppression.
Respond to client outreach within 24 hours.
Collaborate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.), as necessary.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Participate in scheduled team meetings, including group supervisions and staff meetings.
Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment that promotes learning, growth, and continuous professional development.
Complete additional assessments, treatment plans, discharge notes, and progress notes in a timely manner, as consistent with practice policies and NY State Board standards.
Be respectful, cooperative and collaborative with colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Abilities & Experience :
Master’s or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work; and an
Active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT or LCPC) in the State of New York.
Available a minimum of 28 hours weekly to schedule 25 weekly clients, conduct at least 23 weekly billable client sessions, provided such sessions are available and scheduled by the practice, and attend 2-3 hours of professional development, supervision or other mandatory staff meetings.
Comprehensive knowledge of complex trauma, treatment, and advanced interventions (i.e. EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, somatic work, attachment therapies, etc.).
Strong attention to punctuality, details, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to accurate, ethical and timely documentation.
Have at least one niche market within the trauma field (i.e., children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, etc.).
Approval as an in-network provider with the practice’s contracted insurance providers.
Excellent diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
Comfort with giving and receiving honest, constructive feedback.
Commitment to self-awareness and reflection, including a willingness to examine emotional responses and reactions toward clients that may be impacting the therapeutic process.
Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as with a team.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing trauma therapy to individuals.
Versed in online systems, such as Google Workspace and electronic medical records (EHR).
This is a flat fee position. Pay is determined based on experience and licensure. Compensation ranges from $44-55 per billable hour, and $25-30 per non-billable hour. Pay is determined based on experience and licensure. Non-compensatory benefits include:
