Plant Foreman — Water/Wastewater Treatment Construction - Tallahassee At

Plant Foreman
to lead multi-discipline crews building
water and wastewater treatment facilities
throughout North Florida.
In this role, you’ll coordinate all aspects of field operations — from yard piping and concrete to process piping, equipment installation, and final punch-out. You’ll drive production, quality, and safety while developing and mentoring your crew to deliver exceptional results.
What You’ll Do Leadership & Supervision Directly supervise and coordinate multiple crews (yard piping, concrete, process piping/equipment, start-up, punch-out).
Plan and execute daily work based on the project’s 4-week schedule.
Train, coach, and mentor crew members while maintaining accurate daily reports and timecards.
Serve as the on-site safety leader — enforce OSHA and Petticoat-Schmitt safety standards.
Field Operations & Coordination Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, and subcontractor activities to maintain production goals.
Support survey layout and perform quality checks to ensure work meets plans and specifications.
Plan and adjust daily operations to accommodate changing field conditions and resources.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite.
Technical Execution Interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, I&C, and electrical one-line diagrams.
Perform construction math and calculate elevations, quantities, and slopes.
Set up and use rotary lasers, builder’s levels, and total stations for layout and verification.
Oversee process piping and mechanical installations (DI, stainless, FRP, PVC) including pumps and process equipment.
Plan excavations around existing utilities and oversee dewatering setup and adjustments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced understanding of
treatment plant construction methods , materials, and sequencing.
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of
OSHA safety regulations , Petticoat-Schmitt standards, and environmental compliance (NPDES/BMPs).
Basic IT proficiency for using mobile devices (smartphone/iPad) to complete forms, reports, and timecards (e.g., HeavyJob or similar).
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation as it relates to scope of work.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb in/out of trenches or structures.
Lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and jobsite environments.
Required PPE: hard hat, eye and ear protection, and high-visibility clothing.
Training & Experience 5–10 years
of water/wastewater treatment plant construction experience (foreman level preferred).
Proven leadership experience supervising self‑perform crews.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications preferred:
Competent Person, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Crane Safety/Rigging, OSHA 30.
