We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
MOHS Histology Technician (Histotech)
to join our dynamic dermatology team and work closely with our highly experienced Dermatologic Surgeon in our Madison and Monroe, Wisconsin clinics. As a MOHS Histotech, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer and have a meaningful impact on patient care. Key responsibilities:
Preparing and processing frozen and fixed tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery.
Operating and maintaining histology equipment, including a cryostat, tissue strainer, microscope, and automatic stainer.
Performing H&E staining procedures and preparing chemical reagents and stains.
Triage and documentation of tissue specimens using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Mapping tissue sections for Mohs procedures and maintaining accurate surgical logs.
Supporting the Dermatologic Surgeon during surgical procedures as needed.
Communicating pathology results and surgical scheduling information to patients.
Managing laboratory compliance with
CLIA, OSHA , and
HIPAA
standards.
Assisting with lab inspections and quality assurance activities to maintain certification.
Responsible for Quality Control, Procedural Manuals and filing of slides Requirements: Graduate from a Histology Technician program (2 yr) with an Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a science background One year experience performing histopathology, including frozen section and fixed tissue procedures on skin samples HHA approved laboratory certification, HT (ASCP) Benefit Overview:
