Overview

Assistant Teaching Professor in Real Estate at The Pennsylvania State University, The Department of Risk Management, Smeal College of Business (University Park). This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with a possibility of renewal. Duties involve engaging in effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Experience with or interest in online teaching is preferred. Responsibilities

Provide effective teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level in Real Estate. Education and Experience

The appointment requires a Ph.D. in real estate, economics, finance, or a closely related field by the start date. Alternatively, a candidate without a terminal degree should possess at least a master’s degree and have demonstrated ability as a teacher and evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and/or mastery of subject matter. Candidates with an established research agenda or industry experience are preferred. Academic Environment

The Department of Risk Management houses faculty in Actuarial Science, Business Economics, Business Law, Enterprise Risk Management, International Business, and Real Estate. It includes the Borrelli Institute for Real Estate Studies (BIRES) and offers an undergraduate Real Estate major, Actuarial Science and Enterprise Risk Management majors, a Certificate in Real Estate Analysis and Development (undergraduate), and a Master of Science in Real Estate Analysis and Development with STEM certification, along with a strong PhD program in Real Estate.
