Assistant Teaching Professor of African Studies
The African Studies Program at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position.
Responsibilities include teaching African Studies courses at the graduate level, as well as introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate courses in the field. This position will include resident and online instruction and normal university service; onsite teaching is an essential function of this job.

Desirable research and teaching emphases include, but are not limited to, post-colonial theory, Africa in Film, gender in Africa, and any other topic that candidates feel garners high student engagement.
A Ph.D. in African History, Sociology, Economics, Literature, Arts, Politics, or other relevant area in the study of Africa is required by the appointment date. This is a non-tenure-track, term position for one year with an excellent possibility of renewal.
The College of the Liberal Arts is committed to offering professional growth and promotional opportunities for non-tenure-line faculty appointments.
Interested candidates must submit an online application and must upload the following application materials: a letter of interest, CV or resume, and a list of three references with contact information.
