Psychologist, Ph.D – NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital – Full‑time

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital at NYU Langone Health is a leading orthopedic and rheumatologic specialty hospital. We invite a Psychologist, Ph.D. to provide direct neuropsychological and psychological services for patients with neurological conditions or complex medical histories.
Position Summary In this role, you will deliver direct neuropsychological and psychological services, supervise staff and trainees, and oversee service‑specific clinical responsibilities under the direction of the Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
Provide evidence‑based assessment, psychotherapeutic or behavioral interventions to patients and their families individually or in groups; target patients with neurological conditions, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.
Demonstrate continued proficiency in evaluating and treating assigned patient populations.
Serve as a resource for the interdisciplinary team, conferring with physicians and other staff regarding patient care.
Ensure accurate documentation and billing for psychological services.
Provide supervisory oversight of psychology interns and fellows, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and national regulatory standards.
Assist with the development and implementation of educational programs to advance clinical care.
Plan and implement patient‑related programming initiatives; evaluate ongoing efficacy of outpatient initiatives.
Under the direction of the Supervisor and Site Director, develop and update a plan to maintain referral sources for the program.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.).
Current license as a Psychologist in New York State.
Completion of an APA‑accredited psychology internship and a relevant postdoctoral fellowship/residency in health psychology, pediatric psychology, clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology, or a related field.
Meet NYULH medical staff credentialing criteria for psychology core privileges.
Documentation of additional specialty education/training required for non‑core clinical privileges (e.g., biofeedback, neuropsychological testing).
Experience working with interdisciplinary providers (physiatry, PT, OT, speech‑language pathology, neuropsychology) strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior clinical experience in rehabilitation psychology.
Experience in an inpatient setting.
Post‑doctoral fellowship in a related area of rehabilitation psychology.
Required Licenses Psychologist licensed in New York State.
