Research Senior Technician – Physiology & Cell Biology
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support scientific investigations in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing, conducting, and troubleshooting experiments
Perform molecular and cellular techniques, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell culture, and Northern/Western blotting
Sort and process tissues, and perform routine procedures on laboratory animals
Record, consolidate, and analyze research data; assist in evaluating data validity
Summarize data for grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare progress reports and support publication development (manuscripts, posters, abstracts)
Conduct library and literature research on requested topics
Maintain accurate laboratory records; assist with training of junior staff and students
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; monitor supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience (minimum 4 years of relevant experience; or 2 years with an Associate’s degree; or 0 years with a Bachelor’s degree)
Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge in biological/health science research
Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in data analysis and reporting
Experience with laboratory animal procedures and biosafety protocols is preferred
