The Speech Pathologist shall provide Speech Pathology services to a pediatric population in a school setting. The Speech Pathologist will identify students with communication disabilities; plan and implement appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student educational success and recommend treatment plans. BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Speech Pathologist shall provide Speech Pathology services to a pediatric population in a school setting. The Speech Pathologist will identify students with communication disabilities; plan and implement appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student educational success and recommend treatment plans.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Provide therapy in multiple schools within Hammond Perform evaluations within the school setting and work as a member of a Multi-disciplinary Team to determine programming for students with special needs Write Individual Education Plans using Indiana IEP program Perform all duties as Teacher of Record for students whose only disability is speech/language Collaborate with school staff to ensure the success of students with communication disabilities in the school setting File Medicaid reports and to accurately report therapy services to Medicaid Maintain up-to-date service entry for electronic Medicaid billing Provide all services according to Article 7 Interpret medical reports within the scope of the pathologist's licensure Maintain all files and reports appropriately per School City of Hammond policies If requested, will supervise a Speech Language Assistant or a CFY intern if qualified by ASHA Will participate in workshops, in services and other meetings as requested Other duties as requested by Director of special Education

Requirements

Minimum of Master's Degree Valid Speech Pathologist license from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Valid Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) Hold Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be ASHA eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year Experience with writing Individual Education Plans Proficient computer skills
