You will function as a healthcare provider working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, providing clinically relevant imaging information to assist with diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role encompasses delivery of diagnostic sonography services across various clinical specialties, consistent with your education, training, and facility policies.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment per infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
Assume responsibility for patient safety during the sonographic examination.
Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
Identify contraindications, insufficient preparation, or limitations that may affect the examination and document them.
Use proper patient positioning tools and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure comfort and prevent musculoskeletal injury.
Review examination images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
Provide preliminary reports of sonographic examinations for use by the interpreting physician.
Assist with the daily operation of the sonography department.
Operate FUJI (PACS) and Cerner Millennium.
Assist with education and training of sonography students and physician residents.
Obtain additional credentialing as required by regulatory agencies.

Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience Requirements
Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Diagnostic Medical Sonography School.
PREFERRED:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
Basic computer skills, experience with RIS systems and PACS.
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) – registered in Vascular or obtained within six (6) months of hire.
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – registered in either Abdomen or OB/GYN.
Working Conditions
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity.
Occupational: Some occupational risk.
Physical Effort: Very heavy effort, may exert up to 50 lbs. force.
Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
