What You Will Be Doing: As the Lead Welder, you will be the primary point person on the shop floor for welding fuel tanks and aluminum stud frames for weatherproof or sound attenuation enclosures, assisting management with workflow and training.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

Assist management in leading the welders on the shift.

Using MIG welding techniques, weld aluminum stud frames, walls, and roof to create the enclosures.

Weld all secondary and supporting components for the enclosure.

Assemble and weld walls around fuel tanks.

Test welds for leaks and complete spot welds where needed.

Work with Quality Control to confirm all weld work meets specifications.

Participate in required safety programs and work in a safe manner.

Perform other duties as assigned and qualified.

Schedule

3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Education / Experience

High school diploma and/or GED.

1+ years of MIG welding experience (work, hobby, or volunteer).

Light and medium gauge fabrication experience.

AWS Certification.

Certified Flux Core welder.

Technical degree or certification.

Required Qualifications / Skills

Ability to read tape measure and perform basic math.

Interpret shop drawings.

Demonstrate the ability to mentor, train, and direct less‑experienced technicians and willingness to do so.

Demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude, maintain a professional image and appearance, and demonstrate excellent customer‑relation skills.

Environmental Job Requirements Environment

Most time spent standing or walking.

Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises.

Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, and work on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground.

Physical

Requires use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Must frequently lift, carry, and lower 30+ lbs.

Must frequently push, pull, reach, bend, twist, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, and step.

Travel

Does not require travel.
