Job Summary We are seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented
Tool and Die Maker Apprentice
to join our precision manufacturing team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with an interest in machining and injection mold manufacturing. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will learn to fabricate, maintain, and repair tools, dies, and molds used in plastic component production.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the building, maintenance, and repair of injection molds for plastic part production.
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications.
Operate manual and CNC equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines.
Participate in mold changeovers, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
Work closely with senior toolmakers and engineering teams to understand mold design and manufacturing processes.
Follow safety protocols and quality standards in all tasks.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in or completion of a related technical/vocational program is a plus.
Some experience working with manual and/or CNC equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines is a plus.
Basic understanding of machining tools, measuring equipment, and mechanical principles.
Interest in machining techniques and plastic manufacturing processes.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, bending, and manual work for extended periods.
