Responsibilities
Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Performing preventative maintenance repairs—such as replacing or rotating tires—and completing lubrication and replacement of vehicle components, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team and outside
Basic computer skills
Ability to understand and comply with Penske instructions, guidelines, rules, and policies
Commitment to safety: adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including tool selection and PPE use
Regular, predictable, full attendance
For driving Penske and customer vehicles: current driver qualification file, DOT regulations, and related checks; CDL holders may require a DOT Drug Screen and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
Willingness to work required schedule, location, and pass background checks and drug screening as required
Physical Requirements
Move frequently; stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
Use hands to operate required tools and controls
Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
Work safely in all weather conditions
Vision and hearing adequate to navigate a busy work environment
Lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally
Pay, Schedule, and Benefits Pay:
$22.75 per hour
Shift Differentials:
Second shift after 11:00 AM: +$2.50/hour; Third shift after 9:00 PM: +$3.50/hour
Hours:
Monday to Friday, second shift, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
