The Design Engineer supports the design and development of precision grinding machines from concept through final assembly and testing. This role involves creating detailed 3D models, drawings, and supporting documentation while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful machine builds and performance. This is an onsite position. Relocation package available. Responsibilities

Design and Development: Develop and refine mechanical designs for CNC grinding machines. Create detailed part and assembly drawings, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to company standards. Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Engineers to translate design concepts into production-ready models. Collaborate with Electrical and Applications Engineering teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical and control systems. CAD and Simulation: Utilize SolidWorks to develop models, assemblies, and drawings. Perform basic simulations or FEA to validate design integrity under load and operational conditions. Prototyping and Testing: Support the prototyping, assembly, and testing of new designs. Assist in evaluating test results and implementing design refinements as necessary. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving product quality, performance, and manufacturing efficiency. Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements to enhance reliability, cost-effectiveness, and serviceability. Technical Support: Provide engineering support during machine assembly and troubleshooting. Communicate effectively with manufacturing, vendors, and service teams regarding design intent and changes. Travel: Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites as needed. The above description in no way states that these are the only duties to be performed by someone with this job title. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. Experience: 2-5 years practical experience in machine design, preferably within CNC machinery or related precision equipment industries. Required Skills

Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD, and 2D AutoCAD software (assemblies, modeling, drawings, and BOM creation). Understanding of mechanical systems and principles used in machine tool design. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and tolerance stack-up. Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience in machine tool or industrial equipment design is preferred. Pay range and compensation package
