Production Supervisor - (2nd Shift) Manufacturing / Nutraceuticals The Production Supervisor (2nd shift) oversees the organization’s manufacturing processes and ensures that all the aspects of sanitation, facilities and equipment repairs are performed in accordance with approved operating procedures.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities / Functions

Follows all current Good Manufacturing Practices

Oversees equipment purchases, maintenance, and layout. Monitors and evaluates workflow and manufacturing methods

Oversees staffing plans, scheduling and training for all manufacturing departments and maintenance and sanitation departments

Provides production process analysis and makes recommendations on solutions to process improvements

Ensures manufacturing performance and quality goals are met

Ensures that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently

Directly involved in planning and establishing production schedules

Ensures that production schedules are met without compromising quality

Oversees equipment selection, purchasing and maintenance

Monitors manufactured product standards and quality-control processes

Coordinates the day‑to‑day activities of Maintenance and Facilities Technicians and Sanitation crew, and monitors progress

Oversees installation, inspection, repairs, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and waste management

Research outside repair sources as needed and negotiates best prices

Ensures that new employee orientation and training is completed in a timely manner

Ensures that approved operating and safety procedures are followed

Ensures Batch Production Records are followed in all areas of manufacturing

Monitors Overall Equipment Efficiencies (OEE) and completes reports and documentation related to the process

Partners with Human Resources and General Manager to address employee issues of performance, conduct and processes and policy violations

Investigates non‑conformances, deviations, and other manufacturing‑related issues

Completes production reports and other required documentation for Production

Ensures that production teams comply with all health and safety guidelines

Drafts detailed and objective employee performance evaluations. Delivers performance evaluations, addresses issues of performance and sets goals for direct reports

Identifies training needs

Communicates production objectives and expectations to direct reports

Follows and always exemplifies cGMP’s

Follows and exemplifies all safety and environmental regulations, standards, policies and procedures

Work cooperatively with co‑workers and supervisors

All other duties and projects as assigned

Marginal Job Functions

Estimates the costs of production

Assist with other Sanitation, Facilities and Maintenance responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills Required to Perform Job Duties

Experience overseeing production operations

Knowledge of manufacturing regulations, policies, practices and procedures

Knowledge of industry principles such as lean manufacturing and other methodologies are also required

Clear and effective communication skills

3‑5 years of leadership experience

Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals

Physical Requirements to Perform Job Duties

Stand and walk on hard surfaces for long periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time

Stand/remain upright, walk, kneel, bend, turn, stoop and squat repetitively

Stand/remain upright and stationary for long periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time

Reach forward repeatedly

Able to see/read details at close range (within a few feet)

Able to lift up to 50 lb weight

Education and/or Experience Required to Perform Job Duties

High School diploma or GED: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Familiar with all MS Office products

Experience with production and inventory control systems
