Lab/Quality Assurance Technician – 2nd Shift

A client of Insight Global in the food manufacturing industry is looking to hire a Lab/Quality Assurance Technician. Daily responsibilities include: Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and facility to ensure cleanliness and readiness for daily milk processing. Review documentation and verify compliance with sanitation and safety standards before releasing milk and equipment for use. Perform sanitation verification through swabbing and sample incubation; analyze results and maintain accurate records. Calibrate lab equipment and ensure all instruments are functioning properly. Operate the floss machine to run samples, incubate them, and read plates from previous days. Prepare and submit daily reports summarizing lab findings and compliance status. Maintain inventory and stock laboratory supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations. Utilize pipettes and Petri film for sample handling and testing. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) rigorously. Review and assess SOPs for validity; recommend updates or changes as needed.
Required Skills and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in food science or related field preferred. Up to 1 year of lab or QA experience in food manufacturing. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry).
