Job Title: Supply Chain Planning Manager
Position Summary
The
Supply Chain Planning Manager
is responsible for leading all aspects of short- and long-range supply chain planning to ensure the efficient flow of materials and components that support on-time transformer production and customer delivery. This individual will manage forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization across multiple facilities, aligning procurement, production, and logistics activities to meet customer and financial objectives.
This is a strategic, hands-on role requiring strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of manufacturing planning processes within a complex, engineer-to-order environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
supply chain planning process
to balance customer orders, plant capacity, and inventory levels across all facilities.
Partner with
Sales, Engineering, Production, and Procurement
to translate demand forecasts into actionable production plans.
Develop and maintain
Master Production Schedules (MPS)
and
Material Requirements Plans (MRP)
to optimize throughput and resource utilization.
Monitor and analyze
demand variability, lead times, and material availability , implementing corrective actions to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Manage and develop a small team of planners or analysts to ensure accurate data management and ERP system integrity.
Conduct
capacity planning
to align equipment, labor, and material resources with production requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, forecast reliability, and supply-chain responsiveness using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Track and report KPIs including
On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, and Schedule Adherence , developing action plans for improvement.
Support corporate
SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning)
initiatives and standardize best practices across plants.
Collaborate with Finance to align inventory, production, and revenue forecasts.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure optimal material flow and delivery performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field .
7–10 years
of experience in supply chain or production planning, preferably in
electrical manufacturing, heavy industry, or custom engineer-to-order environments .
Proven success managing
demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory control .
Proficiency in
ERP/MRP systems
(SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and advanced Excel or Power BI analysis.
Strong understanding of
Lean Manufacturing
and continuous improvement tools.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
preferred.
