President Position Summary

The Commercial Construction Operations Manager provides both operational and strategic leadership for our plumbing & mechanical construction department. This role oversees project performance, departmental profitability, and crew leadership, working closely with the Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, Field Superintendent, and company leadership. The Operations Manager will be accountable for driving growth from $2M in annual revenue toward our $7M+ target while maintaining safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Growth & Strategy

Partner with estimating/preconstruction to improve bid-hit ratios and expand the company’s project pipeline. Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and owners to secure repeat work. Identify opportunities for larger-scale projects and long-term contracts. Operations Oversight

Oversee commercial plumbing & mechanical project execution, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and safe delivery. Monitor departmental P&L and project gross margins; recommend corrective actions as needed. Coordinate with the Field Superintendent to align manpower, scheduling, and productivity targets. Approve purchasing policies and supplier selections to control material costs. Leadership & Development

Directly manage the Field Superintendent, Preconstruction Manager and Project Manager. Mentor future leaders within the department to build long-term stability. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork. Accountability & Reporting

Track and report on KPIs, including revenue growth, project margins, safety metrics, labor productivity, and client satisfaction. Provide regular updates to executive leadership. Qualifications

8–12 years of commercial construction experience, with both field and management responsibilities. background in plumbing or mechanical trades Proven success overseeing multi-million-dollar commercial plumbing projects. Strong financial acumen (budgeting, cost tracking, P&L responsibility). Plumbing and/or Mechanical license. Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
