General Purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations and supervision of the Store when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and supervising company operational processes.

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments

Practice safe behaviors; maintain a safe sales floor.

Control building security: entrance, EAS devices, cash office, etc.

Maintain safe egress and emergency procedures.

Test fire alarms and respond to alarms.

Customer Service

Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.

Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism; recognize associates.

Personal & Store Brand

Represent and support the Company brand.

Maintain professional appearance and company dress code.

Keep store clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised.

Remove daily trash.

General Merchandising

Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdown standards are met.

Process merchandise with urgency; handle receipts and back‑stock.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of stockrooms.

Execute floor moves and promotional signage.

Loss Prevention

Maintain strong customer service presence and loss‑prevention awareness.

Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.

Conduct package inspections and maintain PVM system.

Execute best practices to minimize steps and maximize productivity.

Front End Supervision & Operations

Train and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control, and front‑end procedures.

Manage associate break schedules and ensure equipment operates correctly.

Maintain supplies; expedite go‑backs and ensure security tagging.

Teach the “Scan and Bag” best practice.

Fitting Rooms

Maintain cleanliness and garment tag audits.

Ensure all merchandise returns are processed with scanning, security tagging, and ticketing.

Administrative Duties

Conduct cash pulls and bank deposits per company policy.

Assist with front‑end control and refund approvals.

Handle payroll administration and scheduling compliance.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications & Special Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Fluency in English.

Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.

Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.

Basic mathematical calculations.

Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements / ADA

Use all store equipment (registers, PC, etc.).

Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.

Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop.

Occasionally push, and lift more than 25 lbs.

Use janitorial equipment, ladders, and assigned supplies.
