Mental Health Clinician
to join our growing team.
Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services and the Clinical Director, the
Mental Health Clinician
will work directly with individuals of all ages, providing therapy intervention, advocacy, discharge/transition services, in-office and/or virtually, in a community-centered, mission-driven environment.
As a long-standing and trusted pillar in the community of Perth Amboy and its surrounding area, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA continues to grow its impact through its three core Areas of Focus:
Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility.
Our Mental Health Services Department plays a vital role in that mission by providing accessible, high-quality, and equitable mental and behavioral health support for individuals of all ages across our city and beyond.
Essential Duties Include
Client intake, assessment, and individualized treatment planning
Weekly counseling sessions (individual, group, and/or family)
Advocacy, discharge planning, and transition support
Services delivered in-office and/or virtually, depending on client needs
Accurate and timely documentation of all clinical services
Establish and maintain partnerships with client and family wraparound/interdisciplinary team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, care manager etc.) and respond to client, family and stakeholder’ requests/communications in a timely manner.
Position Details
Full-Time/Exempt (salaried) ; based on a 40hr work week with a daily 1/2-hour unpaid lunch. General hours are Monday – Friday with the option to work either 9:00AM - 5:30PM or 10:00AM - 6:30PM; evening and/or weekend hours as needed to meet organizational and departmental needs.

Requirements
Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field.
Active NJ State Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or Marriage & Family License. (LAC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, PhD)
Prior experience in youth development/engagement and/or serving underserved, multicultural and lingual populations.
Knowledge of evidence-based modalities for therapy and treatment.
Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Reliable and punctual with ability to complete independent tasks while being part of the collaborate team and effort.
Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Obtain and successfully pass state and federal criminal background check via fingerprinting.
Utilization of Electronic Health Record System
Language Skills – Bilingual with excellent written and verbal abilities in multiple languages a plus.
Experience with ID/DD/ASD population a plus.
