Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13‑week travel assignment in Redding, California. Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations

Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

COTA Certification (NBCOT)

Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy

Occupational Therapy Assistant experience; new grads are welcome

Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Summary The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct, hands‑on therapeutic interventions to support patients in regaining or developing skills necessary for daily living. Working under the supervision of a licensed OT, the assistant implements individualized treatment plans, assists with adaptive techniques and equipment, and educates patients and families on strategies to enhance functional independence.

Essential Work Functions

Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatments in accordance with the established treatment plan

Maintain and operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices integral to occupational therapy interventions

Provide education to patients and caregivers about occupational therapy techniques and self‑management strategies

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity of treatment

Monitor patient responses during treatment, accurately documenting outcomes in the medical record

Promptly report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist

Provide care in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community clinics, adapting interventions to meet specific needs

Adjust effectively to various clinical settings and evolving patient care needs, demonstrating flexibility

Prioritize tasks efficiently to manage multiple patients and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment

Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions

Perform additional duties assigned within scope of practice

Required Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Physical abilities: remain stationary, move & lift 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend

Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism

Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment

Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance; contend with irregular activity schedules sometimes and continuous concentration to detail

Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
