Overview Join the Certified Surgical Technologist role at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. The department supports orthopedic and spine procedures with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.

Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.

Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.

Scrub on all cases and support room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.

Maintain sterile field during procedures and anticipate surgeon’s needs by handing instruments to surgeons.

Maintain and update preference cards.

Qualifications

Basic Computer skills required.

One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Experience in a specialty field preferred.

HS Diploma/GED required.

Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.

BLS from the American Heart Association required.

Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech.

Certification in Surgical Technology from the NBSTSA or NCCT required.

Schedule, Location & Work Environment Schedule: 40 hours per week; variable shifts by surgical volume and unit needs. Weekdays; no evenings, weekends, or on-call in this role. Schedule is set every 6 weeks by the manager. Late stays may be required and scheduled in advance (min 8 late stays in 6 weeks).
