Compensation and appointment details, start date, and equal opportunity statements are included below. Essential Functions of the Position

Construction of a course syllabus, consistent with the generic course syllabus, that stipulates course objectives, content, and grading criteria. Preparation of course presentations and instructional materials for lecture, laboratory and clinical functions (as appropriate). Delivery of instruction, including meeting courses and laboratories at scheduled times. Consultation with and evaluation of students. Maintenance of clear records on student performance and attendance as part of grading. Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures, including submission of midterm and final grades, keeping office hours, and decisions regarding instructional matters such as texts, assignments, grading standards, and adherence to provisions of the OCCFA contract. Participation and compliance with departmental decisions regarding instructional matters such as texts, assignments, and grading standards. Participation in department and/or institutional assessments of student learning and surveys. Participation on appropriate standing and/or ad hoc committees within the assigned department and division. Participation in college-wide activities and governance, accreditation studies, student activities, planning and/or implementation of professional development, and other college-related activities mutually agreed upon by the Dean and faculty member. Compliance with institutional procedures. Qualifications

Minimum: Master’s degree in psychology. Preferred: ABD or Ph.D.; college teaching experience. Extensive experience teaching a full Introduction to Psychology and/or Human Development college-level course; training and interest in teaching areas such as Abnormal Psychology, Biopsychology, Cross Cultural/Multicultural Psychology, Health Psychology, Human Sexuality, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Research Methods, or related areas. Training, certificates, or graduate coursework in pedagogy; experience in high-impact, critical, anti-racist, and/or feminist pedagogies; commitment to equity, diversity, social justice and a collaborative multicultural environment; evidence of commitment to institutional service and leadership; online teaching certificate or online/hybrid teaching experience. Workload, Calendar and Professional Engagement

The full-time faculty workload is 30 lecture hour equivalents (LHEs) over a nine-month academic year, with an average of 15 LHEs in Fall and Spring, and up to 60% of the load may be taught asynchronously. The academic calendar includes 169 working days, with instructional days totaling 153. Four days are for instruction or culminating activities; two for grading; one for commencement on a three-year rotation; and nine for professional development, course preparation, advising, and college activities. A minimum of 10 regular office hours per week is expected during Fall and Spring semesters. Faculty are expected to participate in professional development and service to the institution and department. Compensation and Benefits

Minimum salary: $62,419; maximum salary: $85,424. The hiring range is based on a 9-month, no-overload contract. Additional pay is provided for overloads and summer assignments. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance; flexible spending; life insurance; tuition waivers and reimbursement; retirement; paid holidays; sick days; sabbatical leave; and a four-day summer work week.
