Join a leading health system with GoHealth Urgent Care to provide radiologic services across multiple sites in the NYC/Long Island/Westchester region. This Flex RT travels to different urgent care centers to perform x-ray procedures and support patient care teams.
Overview The Radiologic Technologist (RT) Flex works with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants to perform diagnostic radiologic procedures, analyze patient x-rays, and report results. The role also provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. The Flex RT travels between sites as patient care needs arise, gaining exposure to a variety of urgent care settings and increasing the number of x-rays performed.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Push patient in a wheelchair as needed.
Patient Registration
Conduct patient registration, secure required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verify insurance and patient eligibility.
Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned centers.
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.
Answer patient questions regarding care and keep them informed of their status.
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination, including interviewing to verify patient information and medical history; confirm purpose of visit.
Perform preliminary physical measurements (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.
Conduct point-of-care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG) and provide information to the provider.
Stocking
Responsible for stocking supplies and maintaining exam rooms, front desk, and reception areas; ensure providers have needed medical supplies.
Maintain supply inventory levels and regularly check expiration dates on supplies.
Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
Answer phone calls and manage daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence.
Ensure reception is well maintained and conduct courtesy follow-up calls for patient care.
Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, end-of-day communication, and securing the building.
Follow operating instructions to perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
Requirements
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Must pass MVR background check.
