Primary Responsibilities
Provide daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of residents.
Perform professional assessments and documentation of resident health.
Assist with the management of assigned nursing units staff.
Supervise, perform and provide written/verbal care assignments, routine skills and procedures to ensure quality of care to residents.
Participate in development and implementation of resident care plans, maintaining up-to-date plans, documenting progress and making recommendations for revisions.
Observe residents for symptoms, reactions to medication and/or treatment.
Obtain and document vital signs, intake & output, weights, diet supplements, replacements, cultures, etc.
Assist with orientation and ongoing training of staff to assure required skill levels.
Report and document resident or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations per facility policy using the occurrence reporting system.
Qualifications
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid LPN license in good standing per State and Federal requirements.
Thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
Personal integrity and ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel.
