Overview
Advanced Practice Nurse (MIDWIFE), Irwin ACH Ft Riley, KS About the Position: This position is located at the Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, Kansas. Responsibilities
Serve as Nurse Midwife for an Army Medical Hospital, providing management and care of mothers and babies throughout the maternity cycle. Collaborate with Obstetricians and Gynecologists when caring for women with obstetric, gynecologic, and general medical complications in both the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Perform accurate history and physical examination on obstetric, gynecologic, and neonatal patients. Perform and/or request laboratory, radiologic and other diagnostic and screening tests, interpret results, and assess specific problems/complications. Provide inpatient obstetrical care including labor management and vaginal delivery. Start intravenous infusions; select and administer appropriate analgesia and anesthesia according to protocols. Provide well woman care to include family planning, counseling and the prescription of contraceptives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirement For Advanced Practice Nurse (Midwife) Degree:
A graduate or higher-level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Midwifery. This education must be accredited by an approved accrediting body. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Foreign Degree:
A degree from a foreign nursing school requires official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. Licensure:
A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse with licensure to practice in the U.S., and you must have passed the NCLEX. APRN Licensure:
A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse in the specialty of Midwifery (or related) from a U.S. state or territory. Exemption:
You are exempt from the basic requirements if you are a current federal employee occupying the 0610 series since 2017 or earlier; documentation to validate status is required. Requirements Professional Nursing Experience GS-12:
One or more full years of professional nursing experience including performing physical exams, managing labor and childbirth, and prescribing medications. Substitution of education for experience is not permitted for this position. Seniority level:
