Structural Technician III (assemble, filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting etc.) - Contract at Hagerstown, MD
Base pay range: $35.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Responsibilities
Assemble and create major assembly structures and perform minor part‑fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Modify incomplete and complete assemblies, incorporate changes, and monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control or other control procedures.
Inspect structures, equipment, or vehicles and perform aviation related duties.
Operate or supervise heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent with typically 5 or more years of relevant experience (a higher‑level degree may substitute for experience).
Progressive experience with structure assembly, minor part‑fitting techniques, repair, and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal.
Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi‑locks.
Must have/own tools in good working order.
Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
Ability to obtain secret clearance.
Safety‑sensitive position: responsible for the safety or security of people or property; performs aviation related duties.
