Main Responsibilities
Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
Perform preventative maintenance repairs—including replacing or rotating tires—and complete vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to solve problems and comfortably use tools.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
Basic computer skills.
Comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and other information established by Penske management.
Perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper tool selection, PPE use, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file, annual motor vehicle records checks, a DOT physical, and safety performance history records. CDL holders must pass a FMCSA drug screening within 30 days of start.
Accept the required schedule, specific location, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening, pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and be willing to travel within a near geography for training.
Physical Requirements
Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods throughout the scheduled work period.
Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate required tools or controls on a routine basis.
Work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated work platforms.
Work in all weather conditions.
See and hear to safely navigate the work environment.
Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally.
