Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Fabricate and/or repair precision carbide and steeltooling (dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.) for the manufacture of aircraftquality fasteners, utilizing automatic and manual machines, and/or cuttingapparatuses, and precision measuring devices.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches,models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines required tofabricate part.
Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assemblymethod and sequence of operations.
Measures, makes, and scribes metal stock for machining.
Sets up and operates equipment such as lathe, millingmachine, and grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machinedparts to specifications.
Examines standard to previously used dies, tools, jigs andfixtures, and recommends design modification regarding construction andfunction of part.
Meets and maintains productivity levels and qualityrequirements in support of departmental standards, goals and schedules.
Performs record keeping, housekeeping, and follows safetyregulations.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in allunits of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, andpercent. Ability to apply basic conceptsof algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with avariety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizationexists. Ability to interpret a varietyof instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree(GED). A minimum of 1-2 years’ experiencein fabricating aircraft quality fastener tooling; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
PhysicalDemands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee isregularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee isoccasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or moveup to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $18.00 - $29.86. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
