Deputy Construction Manager

WSP in the U.S. . This is a full-time position with the potential to work out of any US WSP office, including Tempe/Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA; San Jose, CA; or Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will provide construction and technical direction on building/facilities construction related projects, overseeing small to medium, multi-discipline projects from assignment through commissioning, close-out, and turnover to the client. Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager in tendering works, bid reviews and bid analysis. Manage construction projects upon award of contracts. Coordinate with general contractors and multiple trade disciplines. Monitor budget and schedule, ensuring adherence to cost and delivery contractual commitments. Conduct construction monitoring and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including weekly status reports and a weekly construction log. Record and document significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging. Ensure quality control, document and resolve issues related to fabrication, installation, or materials. Control changes and understand contractual requirements for change orders. Promote job safety and compliance with WSP and USPS safety, health, and environmental requirements. Lead project start-up meetings and participate in safety program meetings. Assist in responding to RFIs, material and equipment submittals, and shop drawings; interface with the client as required. Oversee project turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, training manuals, and OEM manuals. Manage equipment testing and commissioning. Work on local and regional field assignments; travel up to 100% may be required. Implement standards in line with USPS/WSP program requirements and seek guidance from Sr. Construction Managers for planning and delivery. Demonstrate construction management skills across project elements: scope, time, cost, quality, changes, and communication of project information. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to applicable quality standards and contract requirements. Maintain clear, precise record-keeping meeting contract and regulatory requirements. Comply with all USPS/WSP Environmental, Health and Safety requirements for projects. Experience with buildings including offices, light industrial facilities, and maintenance facilities. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant experience. Experience coordinating with outside vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Minimum of 5 years in construction management or related disciplines. Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore is a plus (willing to learn). Experience managing direct and indirect resources on light industrial or commercial projects (5+ years). Strong communication skills and knowledge of environmental, safety, and health regulatory compliance; negotiation and construction management experience. Well-organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of effective teamwork with technical disciplines. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules related to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building structures. Physical Demands

Ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on their feet for extended periods and handle standard field-testing equipment. Ability to work in varying environments (office and field) and travel as needed. Must pass drug test, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record according to company policy. Benefits & Compensation

Expected Salary: $86,100 - $141,350. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on the applicant’s education, experience, and geographic location. About WSP
