About the Role We are hiring a PLC Programmer – Siemens to join our controls engineering team. This role includes programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting Siemens automation systems in manufacturing and automotive environments.

Experience with automotive manufacturing is a strong plus, and experience working with German automakers (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, etc.) is a big plus.

Responsibilities

Program and commission Siemens PLCs and HMIs (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC).

Develop and modify PLC logic, safety functions, and HMI screens.

Troubleshoot and optimize automation systems during commissioning and production.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, functional design specs, and safety standards.

Collaborate with mechanical, robotics, and electrical teams for system integration.

Provide on-site startup support at customer facilities (domestic & occasional international travel).

Create documentation, backups, and system reports for completed projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Practical experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, and WinCC.

Fundamental understanding of industrial automation and electrical systems.

Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (TN visa sponsorship available).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with German automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers (BMW, Mercedes‑Benz, VW, Audi, Porsche).

Automotive assembly, body‑in‑white, paint shop, or powertrain automation experience.

Knowledge of PROFINET / PROFIBUS, Siemens safety PLCs, or distributed I/O.

Experience working with KUKA, Fanuc, ABB, or Yaskawa robots.

Familiarity with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
