Description The Judge Group is actively recruiting for a Senior Electrical Component, Assembly, and DMSMS Engineer 4 on behalf of one of our premier clients in the aerospace industry. This position plays a vital role in supporting the full production lifecycle of advanced aerospace and defense systems, with a focus on electrical component evaluation, obsolescence management, and engineering solutions to ensure program continuity and compliance.
Electrical Component & Assembly Engineering
Apply expertise in electrical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical components to evaluate new parts for assembly and subassembly design.
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure components meet qualification standards and contractual requirements.
Utilize aircraft and weapons systems knowledge to recommend suitable and alternate electrical components for both new product development and legacy programs.
Lead component qualification efforts and provide technical consultation across cross‑functional teams.
Integrate Lean, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and quality principles into all design, testing, and production processes.
Utilize project management tools to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
Obsolescence & DMSMS Management
Conduct obsolescence forecasting, monitoring, and analysis using predictive systems, supplier surveys, and government‑industry alerts (e.g., GIDEP).
Develop obsolescence mitigation strategies and business case analyses to support resolution decisions.
Lead internal and external DMSMS meetings with Department of Defense and industry stakeholders.
Support the development and implementation of Parts Management and Counterfeit Prevention programs.
Assist in maintaining software tools and databases supporting DMSMS and component management functions.
Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and program deliverables aligned with government and industry requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (required; Electrical Engineering Technology not accepted).
5+ years of hands‑on experience in Obsolescence Management, DMSMS, or Component Engineering.
Proven experience managing Bills of Material (BOMs), identifying alternate components, and mitigating part obsolescence risks.
Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
The ability to secure a U.S. Government Interim Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting military or defense programs.
Background in avionics systems or aerospace component engineering.
Familiarity with DoD Parts Management Program requirements.
