We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to develop operating procedures and perform tests for various water and wastewater treatment operations.

This role involves conducting jar tests to optimize chemical dosing, performing bench and pilot scale evaluations, and testing ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, and filtration systems.

The technician will also be responsible for collecting and recording data, operating small‑scale equipment, preparing samples and reagents, and performing various laboratory analyses.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute operating procedures for water and wastewater treatment operations.

Conduct jar tests to determine and optimize chemical dosing for treatment approaches.

Perform bench and pilot scale evaluations.

Conduct columns and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, and filtration systems.

Collect and measure operating conditions such as pumping rates, pH, ORP, temperature, and pressure.

Operate and perform light maintenance on small‑scale equipment like pumps, heaters, and mixers.

Prepare samples for testing and reagents for in‑house lab analyses.

Perform laboratory analyses including DO, Color, Temperature, ORP, Alkalinity, Hardness, TSS, TDS, COD, TOC, Turbidity, and Phosphorus/Phosphate.

Pull samples for third‑party laboratory analysis.

Maintain reagents and lab inventory.

Keep calibration records for lab equipment.

Maintain SDS documentation for lab chemicals and reagents.

Manage and communicate data efficiently.

Maintain cleanliness of lab equipment and operating areas.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, and wet chemistry techniques.

Ability to work precisely in solution making, with measuring devices, data handling, and instrument operation.

Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments including pH meters, TSS probes, HACH spectrophotometer, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a related field.

Experience with titration, reverse osmosis, quality control, and quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and grow in responsibility.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members.

Detail‑oriented and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Type & Location:

Contract to Hire, Creekside, PA.

Pay & Benefits:

$22.00 - $24.00/hr.
