Quality Lab Technician (2nd Shift)

Essential Functions
Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
Performs receiving and in-process laboratory testing to support manufacturing protocols.
Accurately reads and interprets test data required to comply with product specifications.
Perform appropriate physical test on products and record data on manual or computerized systems.
Follow standard operating procedures of lab functions and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on testing equipment.
Ensure product is tested and approved per specification; inform management of non-conforming materials or products.
Complete lab test reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Entry level or 1+ years of quality experience and/or training in a regulated industry; 3 years of related lab technician experience preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred; background in fasteners or similar industry preferred; knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred.
Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
Able to effectively operate laboratory equipment requiring precise adjustment of controls for valid results.
Able to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrate on routine work details.
Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance.
Must be able to work a 2nd shift schedule (generally Monday-Friday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and overtime as needed, including weekends.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms up to 25-150 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Manual dexterity with hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and warehouse environment with multi-step process production runs on different machines; high value, highly customized components requiring precision.
Noise Level: Moderate to High.
Temperature varies with season.
