We are seeking a
Maintenance Supervisor
to lead and manage the maintenance operations at our food production and distribution facility. This position is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all
production equipment
and
refrigeration systems , as well as supporting the overall facility maintenance needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in food manufacturing environments and cold storage operations. Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily maintenance activities for production equipment, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems (chillers, freezers, HVAC). Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP) and support audits or inspections related to maintenance and sanitation. Lead, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians; assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to ensure minimal disruption to production and distribution operations. Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance logs, parts inventory, and equipment history using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and warehouse teams to ensure operational alignment and resolve maintenance-related issues quickly. Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs, or parts procurement. Monitor and ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards within the maintenance department. Recommend and implement improvements in maintenance processes, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability. Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems. 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong working knowledge of production machinery, PLCs, electrical systems, and industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia or Freon-based). Experience in a food manufacturing or cold chain logistics environment. Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, OSHA regulations, and food safety compliance. Proficiency in using a CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred: Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field. EPA Refrigeration Certification or RETA Certification. Experience with automation and process control systems. Working Conditions
Frequently exposed to cold environments (freezers and coolers at or below 0°F / -18°C). Standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly throughout the shift. Availability to respond to after-hours emergencies or work extended shifts as needed.
