The Manager, Corporate Development develops strong strategic business relationships to source current and future M&A opportunities for Perseus. Relationships are built with software company decision makers (e.g., CEOs, VPs of Corporate Development, founders/owners), M&A advisors, and private equity/venture capital professionals. Success is defined by building and maintaining meaningful relationships that lead to Perseus’ acquisition of software companies. The process of initiating and maintaining relationships and ultimately completing an acquisition typically spans multiple years. Measurable outcomes, ongoing value-add through numerous M&A conversations, and high-quality market research drive successful acquisitions over time. Outcomes / Responsibilities

Develop and manage an M&A pipeline through Salesforce CRM and create market maps to build strong relationships in assigned software industry vertical(s). Meet and exceed monthly M&A targets, including meaningful contacts and other measurable sourcing KPIs. Work autonomously and with M&A leadership to qualify M&A opportunities efficiently. Ensure the lead database is allocated accurately within portfolio verticals. Qualify opportunities at the top end of the acquisition funnel to maintain focus for Portfolio Managers of the business units. Relevant Experience & Competencies

At least 3+ years of experience in a Business Development/Sales role at a software company or client-facing M&A/finance role within business development, sales, and/or account management. Preference for outbound-focused origination experience. Clear interest in developing a long-term pipeline of meaningful relationships with prospects as a career trajectory within software investing. Previous high-performance in Business Development or autonomous roles, or success in other fields such as entrepreneurship, will be considered. Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage with CEOs, M&A advisors, corporate development, private equity and venture capital professionals. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work variable hours. Strong work ethic, proactive with a sense of urgency. Other Requirements

Occasional in-person travel may be required, including Canada, the U.S.A., and continental Europe; role can be primarily performed remotely. Candidates must demonstrate professional working proficiency in English. This role complies with German labor laws, including the Employee Leasing Act (AÜG), anti-discrimination regulations, and GDPR (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung).
