What To Expect This position supports Tesla’s engineering fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs. The primary objective is to maintain and ensure the safe and reliable performance of engineering fleet vehicles. The successful candidate must have a broad background in automotive maintenance and repair.

What You'll Do

Perform retrofits/repairs on engineering test vehicles at various test locations domestically

Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical and electrical issues discovered

Provide detailed written and verbal updates to key stakeholders

Thoroughly document all work performed on vehicles through internal software database (JIRA)

Manage necessary parts and consumables required to perform repairs and retrofits

Maintain a clean and organized work environment

What You'll Bring

Experience as an Engineering Technician or 3+ years as an Automotive Service Technician

Technical degree/automotive certifications preferred, but not required

Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair, including electrical/software troubleshooting

Ability to work autonomously to solve problems using available resources

Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration

Strong work ethics and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

Experience with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required

Up to 50% travel required within short notice, between 24-48 hours

Expected Compensation $24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
