As a Foreman on our Telecom Underground team, you’ll lead crews in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunication systems. You’ll ensure everyone follows safety protocols and project timelines. This position includes work direction, coordination, and oversight of a crew of 2‑8 employees or subcontractors. Responsibilities include overall safety, materials management, reporting, customer communication, leadership, employee communication, and productivity measures. You will oversee operations such as Trench & Plow, Aerial, Drilling/Bore, Asphalt or Conduit, and may operate machines. You must interface with customers and city inspectors, coordinate pre‑construction meetings, keep detailed safety and production records, produce as‑builds, and lead the crew as a skilled excavation operator. You will also assist with permits, site safety, and calling locates.

Responsibilities
Lead crews to meet project timelines
Shoveling, digging, handling and operating construction equipment
Excavation operations including equipment operation and transportation of equipment if needed
General oversight over work direction within a crew or a group of sub‑contractors
Assisting in securing site safety for employees
General maintenance
General utility installation/repair
Assists with as‑builds and ensures attention to detail and high quality work
May assist supervisor in administrative tasks related to hiring and interviewing employees
Help train crew members
Read and understand blueprints
Help ensure everyone follows company safety policies, OSHA, and DOT regulations
Assist supervisor with day‑to‑day activities
Speak with property owners about work to be performed and resolve any issues
Safely use heavy equipment and machinery
Perform work in all weather conditions
Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States
A valid driver’s license
Must pass a background check and company drug screening
Must attend and pass all required company training
May be required to work overtime, after hours, weekends, or be on‑call as needed
May include working nights and holidays as needed
May be required to travel in state or overnight as requested
Regular and timely attendance is essential
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, relevant work experience, or a combination thereof
Previous Foreman experience preferred
Additional Qualifications
6–12 months of work‑related experience in utility construction, telecommunications, or laborer work
Proven leadership experience to direct workflow and produce high quality results
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the role’s duties and responsibilities
Reasoning Ability Ability to make common sense judgments, carry out written or oral instructions, and solve problems involving employees, customers, and vendors in varied situations.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate measurements, proportions, percentages, and area, applying basic mathematics concepts.
Language Skills Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules and machine manuals; ability to write reports; ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, vendors, and the public.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Requires standing, crouching, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers; reaching with hands and arms, lifting, holding, or stooping for a moderate amount of time
Modest noise level in the work environment
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, dust)
Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Exposure to dust, fumes, airborne pathogens, toxic or corrosive chemicals, moving machinery; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment
Pay Range Hourly wage: $24.00 – $35.00, depending on experience.
