Summary: Coordinates front office daily operational responsibilities while performing various functions within the Oncology Management System including but not limited to scheduling appointments, retrieval of appropriate patient medical records, insurance verification, treatment/procedure authorizations and completing patient account registration. Coordinates daily new patient and follow-up schedules for both physicians following the departmental guidelines. Schedules simulation appointments for patients per physician order and secures appointments for x-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and Nuclear scans, along with obtaining the appropriate certification when necessary. Assists patients with the pre-registration process for all lab and radiological procedures. Requests and obtains insurance referrals from patients for all necessary appointments prior to patients arrival in the department. Makes arrangements for self-pay patients following hospital/departmental policy. Accurately enters all pertinent patient demographic and insurance information into the Oncology Management System prior to patient appointment. Prepares the patients Radiation Oncology chart and has it available for the physician at the time of the consult appointment. Ensures all x-rays, nuclear scans, CT scans and MRI scans are available when the patient is seen in consult or follow-up. Secures lab, pathology and x-ray reports as needed and files in the patient\'s chart. Manages physician\'s daily schedule and workflow. Assists physician in patient interview and prepping for physical exams, including pelvic exams, H&N exams, etc. Stocks and prepares exam rooms. Obtains patient weight when necessary. Oversees patient registration process prior to arrival. Completes all registration documentation including ICD9/10 coding and physician signature and enters into the system; files the original in the patient\'s radiation chart. Retrieves In-Patient account information and enters it into the Oncology Management System. Handles all inbound/outbound mail and department scanning. Keeps all correspondence up to date and filed accordingly in the patient\'s radiation chart. Maintains an organized file room. Assists with transcription and documents as needed for department daily workflow. Answers the telephone promptly in a professional and courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate physician or staff. Takes phone messages and conveys them accordingly. Extends professional courtesy and warmth to all patients. Assists in transporting patients onto treatment tables, exam tables, into bathrooms, etc. Provides patient with urinals, bedpans, emesis basins, etc. Coordinates appointments, transportation services, referrals and education for patients. Abides by all hospital and departmental rules and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Required:

High school diploma/GED. Familiar with medical terminology, scheduling tests and procedures. Strong knowledge of medical billing and insurance practices. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills; ability to work well with others. Ability to work under pressure with multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Preferred:

College degree or equivalent and 1 year medical office experience preferred. Ability to handle direct patient contact while providing quality customer service at all times. Highly motivated with a high energy level. Warm and caring with the ability to work in a sensitive patient care environment. Multilingual is desired. Minimum experience: one year. Company:
