Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL.
The Materials Coordinator is a dynamic hands‑on role responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of materials, supplies, and services. Key responsibilities include processing purchase requests, managing inventory, and coordinating all shipping and receiving logistics. This position requires daily, in-depth use of SAP for procurement and inventory transactions, as well as Google Sheets for tracking and data analysis. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who effectively communicates with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain.

Primary Responsibilities
Shipping: 5% Coordinate boxes to be shipped.
Communicate with Mailroom to arrange pickup.
PRN communication and site visit with Daher to confirm package receipts and pickup.
Receiving packages: 5% Research owner.
Contact responsible parties.
Coordinate pickup.
Package storage and care until recipient receives the parcel.
Item Purchase Requests: 10% Research item for availability.
Research item for current open PO’s.
Research item for contract availability and minimum order requirements.
Identify if the item belongs on a PReq or Catalog Order.
Purchase Requisitions: 10% Create new purchase requisitions.
Check stock of requested items.
Offer substitute items that are already available.
Research which items to include.
Follow up with general procurement for quantity or price adjustments.
Attach pertinent documents related to CAPEX orders.
Maintain orders on spreadsheets with updated information for visibility.
Call/Catalog Orders: 5% Create new call orders.
Verify and place order with correct corresponding contract.
Contact finance to have catalog orders released.
Follow up with suppliers for delivery dates.
Maintain orders on spreadsheets for updated visibility.
Click‑n‑buy: 5% Non‑SAP items.
Place non‑catalog items on MMD sheet for approval.
Create Material number for approved MMD sheet item.
Notify new MMD to requesting parties.
Service related: 10% Request quote from vendor (e.g., REEL, Southern Tool).
Place order for service, research HMG, attach quote.
Communicate with GP and approvers to keep orders moving forward.
Once service is performed, record Goods Receipt item.
Office Supplies: 5% Utilize available catalogs for office supply purchases.
Uniform Order: 15% Receive Service Now requests and approvals.
Order jackets, pants according to Service Now request using proper cost center.
Receive orders and process Goods Receipt.
Inventory Management Perform inventory checks for items requested through orders.
Verify items in correct location.
Verify orders and work with suppliers and procurement to cancel line items or PReq/PO’s for real‑time inventory counts.
Suppliers: 15% Contact supplier for updated delivery dates.
Coordinate delivery of large items.
Meet with suppliers on‑site for updates and discussions.
Maintain open line of communication with suppliers for updates.
Call suppliers.
Flowline Assistance: 10% Respond to and assist flowline when necessary.
Issue tools and consumables when assisting flowline.
Applications: 5% SAP – Execute and manage daily operations using transaction codes ME5A, ME2K, MB51, MMBE, MD04, ME80FN, MIGO.
Perform data entry, maintenance, and verification in SAP.
Identify and resolve SAP‑related discrepancies, errors, and system blocks, escalating as necessary.
Generate and interpret standard and custom SAP reports to support operational decision‑making.
Data extractions for analysts.
Additional Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education: Associate’s Degree.
Required Experience: 2 years in Google Suite (Sheets, formulas, pivot tables, tracking sheets).
2 years in SAP R3/PAM (Inventory Management, Purchasing).
2 years in materials coordination, procurement, or supply chain management.
Preferred Experience: 3 years in Google Suite.
3 years in SAP R3/PAM.
3 years in materials coordination, procurement, or supply chain management.
Physical Requirements
Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, documents, reports, and drawings.
Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person, teleconference or phone and hear sounds on the production floor.
Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings.
Equipment Operation: Operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some production tools.
Carrying & Lifting: Carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30 lb (14 kg).
Pushing/Pulling: Push and pull small office furniture and some equipment/tools.
Sitting: Sit for long periods of time while working on the computer.
Squatting/Kneeling: Retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: Stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: Travel independently and at short notice.
Walking: Walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
