Purpose We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Quality Control Supervisor

to oversee and ensure the quality of the metal fabrication and powder coating processes at our Jacksonville campus. This role is responsible for supervising quality personnel, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and maintaining complete and thorough records of inspection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, industrial painting, and quality systems.

Essential Functions

Supervise daily activities of Quality Control (QC) Inspectors in sheet metal fabrication, copper bus fabrication and powder coating operations.

Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations (e.g., UL safety standards, ISO 9001 quality standards, ASTM).

Oversee inspection of in-process parts, finished goods and raw materials for conformity to standards, design specifications and customer requirements.

Train and mentor QC staff on inspection techniques, standards, and safety procedures.

Maintain and improve quality documentation, including electronic inspection reports and QC inspection plans.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Verify QC specifications using engineering drawings, applicable standards, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Monitor and report key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, rework, scrap).

Support First Article / First Piece inspection process.

Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S; notably through excellent data collection and support of SPC, capability studies, etc.

Support maintenance of inspection tools and equipment, and factory adherence to site calibration program which includes micrometers, calipers, gauges etc.

Actively participate in routine, cross‑functional scrap review process.

Ensure correct disposition of product in the digital ERP system for routing of material and products, both physically and in the system.

Education and Experience

Technical Degree (Associates or BS) or Certification preferred; or 7 years’ experience in relevant manufacturing field.

At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse, and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment.

Considerable experience with measuring and test equipment.

Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Access, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Prior experience with ETQ Reliance and/or Infor (Syteline) ERP systems is a plus.

Previous experience in manufacturing or production preferred.

Thorough compliance knowledge.

Physical Demands Sitting – 30% | Walking/Standing – 70%. Continuously lift up to 50 lbs. Must bend, squat, and climb. Vision: long periods of close work on computer screens, small fonts, and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
