Job Summary:
Manages and performs all building operations, safety, maintenance functions, and repair of ice and aquatic facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Utah Driver's License at the time of hire.
Four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications within six months of start: First-aid, CPR, AED, Certified Ice Technician (CIT) or equivalent, Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
Essential Functions:
Establish and implement inspection, repair, and maintenance programs for equipment and systems.
Develop and oversee ice sheet installation, removal, and maintenance procedures.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.
Ensure safety standards and report hazards.
Manage chemical handling and emergency ammonia response plans.
Monitor security and cleanliness of facilities.
Operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment.
Assist in budget preparation for operations and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of ice rink equipment operation and maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
Effective communication and ability to work independently.
Ability to establish professional relationships with staff, vendors, and community members.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Requires physical labor, operating on ice surfaces, chemical handling, and occasional outdoor work. May include working holidays, nights, and weekends.
Additional Details:
This position involves ice maintenance tasks such as edging, blade changing, and Zamboni maintenance.
