Mission Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking experienced

Pipe Layers

to be based out of our

Brunswick, GA

location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Responsibilities

Adhere to Reeves Construction Company safety programs to ensure a safe work environment

Shovel work around trenches

Lifting pipe and operating compaction devices

Locate and avoid underground utilities

Ability to understand and interpret grade information

Read and interpret grade instruments (examples: rules, grade rods, carpenter levels and lasers)

Ability to work and operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner

Willingness to work nights and weekends

Must have a basic knowledge of soil types, trenching and shoring

Must be able to work independently and carry out detailed instructions

Must provide own transportation to and from work

Qualifications, Education, and Competencies Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to climb in and out of trenches multiple times per day

Must be able to work in trench for several hours without stopping

Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment

Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions

Must be able to perform manual duties and lift up to 60 pounds

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
