Position Summary: The IT Project Manager II is an experienced project manager responsible for managing moderately complex IT projects or supporting larger initiatives within the enterprise. This role works closely with IT and business teams to translate project objectives into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with established processes and priorities. The PM II supports project delivery by coordinating resources, tracking progress, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. This role helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with organizational standards. IT Project Managers at this level focus on system integration, digital platforms, and process improvement efforts that impact specific departments or business units.
Responsibilities: 1.
Lead small to medium-scale IT projects, typically within 1-2 business units or functional area. 2.
Support cross-functional project teams by coordinating tasks, tracking deliverables, and maintaining schedules. 3.
Assist in developing and updating project plans and budgets; monitor actuals and report deviations. 4.
Organize and facilitate project meetings, document action items, and follow up on progress. 5.
Ensure project objectives are clearly documented and delivered to meet stakeholder needs. 6.
Support the integration of vendor tasks and review vendor deliverables as assigned. 7.
Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders in a timely manner. 8.
Identify and escalate project risks and unresolved issues to senior project managers or leadership. 9.
Serve as a point of contact for assigned projects between IT, business sponsors, and vendors. 10.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Procurement to support project alignment with budgets and agreements. 11.
Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement activities within the PMO framework. 12.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Working Relationships: IT, Finance, Legal, Procurement
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business or related discipline preferred. Minimum Experience: 4 years of progressive IT project management experience in enterprise environments. Experience managing departmental or business unit-level projects with moderate budgets. Familiarity with IT governance, vendor management, and financial tracking. Preferred Experience: 4+ years leading IT projects or initiatives. Experience supporting project portfolios and managing budgets. Experience working with cross-functional teams. 2+ years’ experience in the Retail industry preferred. Licenses/Certifications: PMP or CAPM certification preferred or willingness to attain. Six Sigma Certification a plus. Soft Skills/Competencies: Puts the Customer First: Understands and anticipates customer needs, acts with customers in mind, and builds trust. Communicates Effectively: Shares information clearly, listens actively, and seeks feedback. Works as a Team Player: Collaborates with others, values diverse perspectives, and contributes to team goals. Other Requirements: Travel: Minimal 5% Hours & Conditions: Typically, Monday – Friday,
8+ hour days in office setting, may be able to work 1 day from home with approval. Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time.
Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
