Petroplan is working with a leading EPC company! We are seeking a Project Controls Director to join this team in a high-impact role in Houston, TX.
Position Overview The Project Controls Director will oversee all project controls functions and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Lead regional project controls teams covering cost, schedule, risk, and performance management.
Integrate estimating, planning, and project execution to drive accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multi‑million‑dollar projects.
Guide schedule development, critical path tracking, and progress reporting.
Mentor and develop project controls professionals across the organization.
Partner with senior leadership to standardize best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of progressive experience in project controls within industrial or construction environments.
Oil and gas / Refining and chemicals industry experience
Strong foundation in estimating, cost control, and scheduling (EVM, CPM).
Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of AACE, PMI, or CII standards preferred.
