AVP, Financial Reporting
A leading global reinsurance company is seeking an experienced financial reporting leader to oversee technical accounting and reporting for its life insurance business. This is a full-time, permanent position with a collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team responsible for financial reporting across multiple life insurance portfolios.
Oversee quarterly close processes and reporting under US Statutory, GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory frameworks.
Review and consolidate financial results, providing clear variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
Ensure accurate accounting for complex treaty arrangements and retrocession activity.
Partner with actuarial, treasury, and corporate teams to support financial planning and reporting.
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal control enhancements.
Support audit and compliance activities, including coordination with internal and external auditors.
Contribute to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in insurance or financial services, with a focus on life insurance.
Strong understanding of US Statutory accounting; familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and Solvency II is a plus.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex reporting processes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial results to senior leadership.
Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar tools.
