Overview Insight Global is partnered with one of our large energy/utility clients in Eagan, MN to hire a full-time Solution Architect. We’re seeking a talented candidate to help shape the future of energy. In this role, you’ll design and deliver innovative, scalable solutions that ensure grid reliability and support a sustainable energy transition. You’ll collaborate across engineering, business, and operations to bring ideas to life and guide teams toward modern, cloud-ready practices.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with cross-functional teams to architect solutions that keep the grid reliable and future-ready.
Define and communicate architectural vision, creating roadmaps that balance innovation with operational needs.
Build and present prototypes and proofs-of-concept to explore new technologies and approaches.
Coach teams on cloud-native and data-driven practices, promoting adoption of modern tools aligned with enterprise standards.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver secure, scalable solutions that support a sustainable energy future.
Requirements
Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in software engineering and architectural leadership, with a proven ability to design and deliver modern, scalable technology solutions.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex architectural concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders—leveraging visual models and storytelling techniques.
Strong technical acumen in system design and problem-solving, backed by hands‑on expertise with modern development tools such as CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and contemporary programming languages.
Execution-focused mindset, with a knack for translating architectural vision into practical, working solutions—guiding engineering teams from concept to delivery.
Experience in high-stakes environments, having tackled architectural challenges in regulated or mission‑critical domains such as energy, finance, healthcare, telecommunications, or government.
A growth-oriented approach, with a commitment to continuous learning. Certifications in cloud architecture, TOGAF, ArchiMate, or Agile/Lean methodologies are a plus, but not required.
Compensation Up to $171,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
