Job Description Manufacturing systems engineering under Kuiper prod‑ops is responsible for delivering test software, test hardware and test frameworks that improve speed and quality of testing of satellite components.

We partner with engineering and production teams to bring reliability and repeatability to our test systems, improve throughput and accelerate the transition. The role requires an Operations Test Engineer who ensures the smooth and reliable operation of Kuiper Test Systems by providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements.

They also contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks. The role combines quality assurance, test automation, and operational support, serving as a bridge between development, testing, and operations teams and requiring both technical expertise and strong collaborative abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Test Environment Management

Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot test environments.

Manage test infrastructure and tools.

Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

Handle test data management and database administration.

Understand and troubleshoot test acquisition systems and automated test equipment.

Work directly with Manufacturing Engineers on test station issues.

Maintain and optimize test station network infrastructure.

Debug communication issues between test equipment and control systems.

Support production testing operations.

Experience with scripting languages (Python, etc.).

Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).

Test Automation

Develop and maintain automated test frameworks.

Create and execute automated test scripts.

Implement performance testing solutions.

Design and maintain test automation architecture.

Quality Assurance

Develop and execute test plans and test cases.

Perform functional, regression, and integration testing.

Document and track software defects.

Validate bug fixes and feature implementations.

Operations Support

Monitor system performance and reliability.

Provide technical support for testing teams.

Troubleshoot issues in test environments.

Implement and maintain testing tools and processes.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Programming knowledge (Python, Java, or similar languages).

Understanding of testing frameworks and tools.

Database management skills.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).

Experience with version control systems (Git).

Understanding of Linux/Unix systems.

Experience with automated test equipment.

Background in manufacturing or aerospace testing environments.

Knowledge of satellite systems (preferred).

Infrastructure Knowledge

Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Network protocols and configurations.

Security testing principles.

Soft Skills

Project management capabilities.

Documentation skills.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.

7‑9 years of experience in software testing or development.

Relevant certifications (ISTQB, AWS, etc.) are preferred.
